1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your actions and preferences — such as your language, currency or sign-in state — so you don't have to re-enter them on every page. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels are covered by this policy as well; we refer to them all as "cookies".
2. Cookies we use
We group the cookies used on FlightMatrix into four categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function: session management, security tokens (CSRF protection), load balancing and the booking basket. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences — remember your choices such as currency, language, recent searches and saved travellers, so the matrix opens the way you left it.
- Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, searches run, errors hit) so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and pseudonymised where possible.
- Marketing — used only if you consent, to measure campaigns and show relevant fare deals rather than random ads.

4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we embed rather than by us. These may include payment providers (Stripe, PayPal) during checkout, content delivery networks that serve fonts and libraries, and analytics providers. Each third party processes data under its own privacy policy; see our Privacy Policy for the full list of processors.
5. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Consent banner — on your first visit you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
- Browser settings — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all provide this under Privacy settings). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in and booking.
- Analytics opt-out — Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics across all sites.
6. Do Not Track
Where your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of non-essential cookies for that visit.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
